The Mix of Leftist Ideologies in Spain in the 1920s
There was a mix of leftist ideological beliefs, much like every other place in Spain at this period. In terms of the left, we have communists, anarchist and socialist, all three exist in this particular area. And numerically and institutionally, it's the socialists who are the strongest. But actually I think if you dig a bit deeper, these different groups exist,. These ideologies exist all over the place in smaller pockets. The workers alliance is emblematic of the revolution of 1934. It's seen as the moment in which the anarchists and socialists put the differences aside and organize the revolution. This is profoundly important for the rest of the history of the left through the Civil War itself.
