What's the Size Difference Between Platforms and Add-Ons?
A typical fund has a 10-year investment period with two automatic one-year extensions at the option of the GP. The investment period for new platforms is typically five years, and then the remaining five years would be for capital available for only add-on acquisitions. For us, we are truly in the lower-middle market. Typically we're buying companies with five to 50 million of revenue or one to 10 million of EBITDA.
