It's really reframing your whole mindset, the way you look at life and the goals you set. The successes that you set a goal and you met the goal is enough to give you a small feeling of victory because you tentately aimed for it and you achieved it. I call it success cycling, where you're just not failing to reach your goals anymore. It ties into self-efficacy, which is your belief that you can influence outcomes.
