How to Choose a PhD

When choosing a PhD, try to meet the people that are working in the lab. Also talk with the PI a little bit more about his way of managing and mentoring. I think I have ended up quite lucky, but you see it go wrong quite often. It's also not something you can change anymore later on. In other countries sometimes it is a little bit easier to change PI's,. But in the Netherlands it's not really a thing that can be done.
