The Match Girl Strike

The match girl strike was basically a strike that took place in bow in east London in 1888 and I think it's significant because of that. It had a huge effect on the emancipation of women as you know actors in the workplace. The conditions were horrible so things like they had to stand on their feet all day any toilet break was taken out of your wages. Most of them didn't have shoes so they worked barefoot but then you would get fined if you had dirty feet and stuff like that.
