A number of people said that the greatest myth or stereotype preventing their own care or the care of their family members was actually around specifically being a girl or a woman who is African American with ADHD. Dr. Hamilton: Girls and women have been, they have a decrease, a decrease in diagnosis for them because they are not as hyper or they're inactive. For girls, especially within that maybe third grade, third to fifth grade range, there has been evidence that shown that they often get left behind.
