Raymond Goyce: A political philosophy has to be both fully realistic and fully utopian. There's a pole which tells you don't be a victim of wishful thinking or ideological illusion, he says. And then there's another pole which is the pole of cultivating what you want - even if they're utopian in their content. He argues that by presenting theories we're also always intervening in a particular discussion.
