The Battle of Vukovar

War began with the battle of vukovar on august 20 fifth 19 91. The j n a had been using vucovar to funnel weapons and supplies to croatian serb militants. Croacias small military could not stand against the full might of the yugolslav national army. This type of fighting had not been seen in europe since the second world war, and no one knew what to do. Europeans were desperate to prevent the violence in coatia from spreading to bosnia. They scrambled to organize a conference to discuss maintaining the peace in bosnia herzegovina. From this meeting came a proposal that suggested yugoslavia
