The Project of Compassionate Outreach
I really do think that there is something to the project of compassionate outreach and trying to engage with people. I worry about us not having the sort of cultural gag reflex to people getting sort of bounced from their jobs or having their entire lives destroyed because they said something inelegant on a YouTube video. You have to give people a chance to catch up, which means you have to be modest about how much you know of the world.
