He still seems like his character. There's a lot of foreshadowing with him. In the first season in particular, he was portrayed as a very frivolous character who seemingly didn't really wasn't too invested in the business. And then you see these sort of flashes of seriousness with him that are very selective and they're sort of dispersed so that most of the time he does have this kind of superficial persona,. but then he's the voice of reason in a lot of these cases.
