The Chosan Dynasty and Confucianism
After the Chosan dynasty took over women's status invisibility went on the decline. This was in part from a shift from a matrilineal to a patrilineal structure of kinship and identity. So no longer were you sharing the inheritance among all siblings, like even among all males. And as we've seen in so many stories, if you don't have your own independent money, then you're dependent on men all the time. That really affects your life.
