The most popular theory is that the Loch Ness Monster is some kind of plesiosaur thing. What do you want to say about the general state of the evidence? A lot of it isn't good, there have been untold numbers of reported sightings and poor quality photos and videos. Most of these don't really have evidential value. Many witnesses report seeing something in the distance, but it's not clear what that something is.
