Phylogenetics

Theory is still kind of a working theory. I haven't been able to continue to explore it. But one of the ways you can sort of explore a hypothesis is through phylogenetics. There are examples of species of calistoma that are found in Southeast Asia that have fairly peculiar morphologies. They're almost like a very stripped down form of calstoma. Very simple features. When you throw them into the phylogeny, they sort of come out at the bottom of the phylogeny as part of one of the early diverging ancestors or an early diverging lineages.
