These men are basically anti-spies. They just should not have done as well as they did. There is this inexplicable bubble around them despite all their failings. The establishment just protects them. But dare I make a prediction, I do think their luck may have run out. It's not looking great where we left them. Burgess got pissed and ended up in Moscow. Kim Philby hurries down the corridor waiting to hear if Donald McLean made it across the Iron Curtain. How can a man live a double life like that?
