Gradwell's Story Reminds Me of the Past

In the 80s, there was a lot of activism surrounding apartheid. And so I suppose from a personal point of view, reading the story reminded me of that era. The protagonist, Gradwell, is from Niazzaland, which is now Malawi. There's a reference to it during the years in which Malawi was achieving its independence.
