After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, 20 states immediately banned or severely restricted abortion while six protected access to it. Since this piece first aired last November, voters in six additional states have amended their constitutions to safeguard abortion rights. But for many women and doctors living in places with strict abortion bans, fear and confusion over these new laws is growing.
