How Critical Thinking Is Used in Education
Critical thinking has been the holy grail of education for as long as anyone's been paying attention. People found it enormously difficult to encourage critical thinking and kids. Kids recognize principles you've taught them in very similar contexts, but can't see how those principles apply new contexts. Getting students to transfer their knowledge from the concrete example used to teach it to the general case is one of the biggest challenges in education.
