How Should Indian Planners Restrict F. A. R.
In India, people think that if you have high rise building, you will have higher densities. But the highest density are in the slums which are horizontal because the slum dweller cannot trade off capital for land. So this idea that you have to restrict F. A. R. Just to avoid high density is a myth. I think they probably should gradually remove them. They have to adapt to infrastructure too. And there is also this myth of the village which came maybe from the history of India and idealized by Mahatma Gandhi.
