Apple has made steps towards freeing the watch from the phone, but i still don't think they've freed themselves entirely. The true test will be when that interface around the watch stops looking like the iphone and tries shrinking it down to the watch. If this is a health and fitness tovice, why should the customer even have to pick out work out in the first place? It would automatically start a workout if it sensed you were doing a workout and you forgot to launch it.
