The average consumer is unaware that Gili, a Chinese company owns Volvo. If it has any kind of name that is in any way associated to China, people in the United States just aren't going to buy it. This is why Glee made like Lincoln Company brand and then Zieker. So I think that these Chinese companies can make brands that get past this branding issue in the US.
