Are we on the brink of global recession?

Introduction
The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have sounded a warning that we could be in for a global recession. On Tuesday morning, Australia's Treasurer Jim Chalmers also warned that we are now at risk of a third major economic crash in the last 15 years. The world is bracing for the third downturn in the course of the last decade and a half. And if it goes that way, as many expect, this will be a very different downturn to the two others that we've had over the past 10 years.
