Why Do They Want Us Focusing on These Weather Balloons?

Three unidentified objects were shot down over Canada and the United States on Friday. One of them might have been a Chinese balloon, maybe it was a spy balloon. We know the other three most likely weren't and they might have even been American weather balloons. So why do they want us focused on that? And so it's sort of like this magic trick, you know, sleight of hand, look over here while we do something over there.
