The Power of Trend Following During Stress Environments
When the market is in a state of stress, trend following tends to work. The strategy works because it regulates risk and knows how to size its positions. It also recognizes this fact that particularly in more stressed environments, prices have this tendency to go in one direction. In terms of talking to institutional investors, I think you get maybe a couple of different types. You get the ones who they understand trend following,. And you get others who perhaps are not quite as familiar with it.
