Sleep disparities are caused by and also perpetuate socioeconomic adversity. Sleep is really a health equity issue. We need to create structures that allow children to sleep just like we need to provide clean water and healthy food for children. It isn't rocket science. If you get those two things right as a human being, your sleep is going to be pretty decent. The downstream consequence of this is these kids are going to struggle a little bit more in school and perpetuates the cycle of disadvantage.
