The History of the Republican Party
The war point is an important one and it's interesting about the older because clearly once we found out as time went on and we found out what was actually going on behind the scenes with LBJ and Nixon. The parties became more aligned with different cultures in the US starting in the 60s, but down to the 80s and 90s Because the South was so uniformly democratic that the Republican Party didn't even have basic party infrastructure throughout most of the South,. Even well into the 60s. Southern cultures, well, religious, it's more traditional in various ways and then of course there's a legacy of racism.
