The Taintor Curve and the Endpoint
The taintor curve was used by an anthropologist to try to figure out and describe why it was that complicated civilizations collapsed. He actually called the collapse of complex civilizations, but I have to modify that for specific reasons. It has to do with the way that human beings design and reinforce the kinds of institutional structures that we use to meet our needs. And there's a particular set of characteristics of how these structures become bound.
