Debt Sealing Crisis and Government Shutdown
There have been several debt sealing crises in the past few decades where it looked like congress might not raise the debt sealing. In 20 13, republicans in congress vowed to vote against raising the debt sealing unless president obama agreed to defund the affordable carect. The government has never intentionally defalt ed on loan payments. However, this move in 20 13 did hurt the approval rating of the republican party and harmed the country's credit rating. You know, i think partisanship s here to stay, which is why, you sort of, it seems like we're going to have to get to a place where people start getting a little bit more nervous about the debt for people to compromise.
