The Importance of a Voice to Parliament
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are the first peoples through a voice. The provision itself merely establishes that there shall be in recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people as the first peoples. It's simply guaranteeing that Indigenous people will have a representative body, a voice, and that we can make representations on matters that relates to us.
