Coaching Is Not Privileged

Coaching is not a privileged discipline, like a doctor or a lawyer or a therapist. There cannot be an expectation of confidentiality if you as a coach are called for legal reasons to disclose information around what the client has told you. If I am ever called to testify, my client needs to know that what we talk about in our coaching is not privileged. And yet if my client tells me that they're going to harm themselves or others, if there is a crime that has happened or if I am called to testify,. I'm going to have to disclose what's up.
