The pair were on holiday in the Pyrenees when Luke was four or five. He decided to have a ride because he still loves riding, and started walking away. The horse must have seen his big red sun hat out of the corner of its eye; it just flipped and started bucking. It threw me off eventually, although I managed to slide off the back rather than be thrown. But my daughter has been traumatized by it. She sometimes says to me, Oh, I've got this image in my head of Leona with his swimming shorts full of sand. And it's traumatized me. Isn't that odd?
