The cost of drug discovery depends on which disease area you're going after. Some trials need to be really large, because the population of a of people who would potentially be taking the drugs is very large. There's been a movement in the last few years towards smaller drugs that target a much better defined population. And they're not blockbust drugs, as they used to be when we did statons and such, but for the patients for whom they work, they work incredibly well. That's where i think the field really needs to go. It's drugs that work for a smaller population and really, really make a difference....
