The Differences Between the First and Second Trials
Each defendant has to make his own decision about whether or not to testify. In the first trial, I think it was probably an easier decision than it was in the second trial. The evidence just came in so poorly for the government that I think most defendants felt pretty confident that they didn't want to and didn't need to take the risk of going on the stand. And even apart from the second cooperator, all of us learned some lessons about what went well and what didn't go well.
