Is the Domination of the Master by the Emissary, or Is It the Whole?

The meles of our current world are written on the miles of madernity, a simply instrumental rationality. How does one move from this reduced view to one that has a greater sense of wholeness? I've done a bit of work on a late roman philosopher, sort of theologian, poet, musician, named boethius. And what i discovered is that there is an absolutely breath taking system according to which these rhythms are repeated as patterns and the patterns are interwoven within other patterns. So my argument in brief is that this prisoner in and through hearing these patterns, is recollected to the sense of the whole.
