The Importance of Work for Prisoners

Father Casey opposes slavery, but he expects the rest of us to work so that people in prison can have room and board without working. Pope Saint John Paul II talked about the dignity of work saying work is a good thing for man. In doing this, criminals have taken material and immaterial goods from society. So it's appropriate to force prisoners to serve society as a whole through work.
