Switzerland's Relative Stability in Foreign Exchange Market

Switzerland is one of the few countries in the world that has not lost significant value this year. The Swiss Franc is heavily backed by large reserves of gold, financial assets and real estate. Switzerland imports about US$300 billion worth of goods and services every year. That works out to a per capita import and export value of around US$35,000 per citizen. But as with most things in economics, it's important not to overgeneralise.
