Does a face‑to‑face meeting still matter?

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has addressed the UN General assembly in New York, confirming Australia’s recognition of a Palestinian state.

But a face-to-face meeting with Donald Trump, which was expected on the sidelines, remains elusive. Should we care if the Prime Minister never sits down with the US President?
