You have to act practically speaking as an interpreter. You're really an actor for all intents and purposes. So if you are interpreting for a guy who is flirting with your mom, that is a whole other layer of fucked up and strange. And how you choose to deal with that information. If you're interpreting for your mom, you're not a professional interpreter so you can manipulate the information a little bit or you can make it go down easier as it were. But that kind of stuff isn't necessarily easy.
