Cillium, which is a soluble viscous gel forming non-fermented dissolves in water. So it softens hard stool and constipation. It firms, firms loose liquid stool and diarrhea. And this is different than inulin, which is soluble non-viscous readily fermented. There's no increase in viscosity. It is rapidly and completely fermented. But the marketed fiber supplements of today, there's really not a whole lot of data that support their benefits.
