When I was a little kid, required viewing for me were films like cornbread Erlen me. It wasn't until I became an adult that I realized no white person had seen these movies. And then there was like a whole other level of like independent films with blacks. This film was from 1977. Like it's not even about the cops getting in trouble. It's just about cops admitting that maybe they killed the wrong guy.
