The Nine Papers: An Investigation of a Killing in Afghanistan
Allegations of murder and war crimes that have been found to be true. The allegations were first published in the Nine Papers, beginning back in 2018. One allegation related to an incident in 2009 when Ben, Robert Smith and other Special Forces soldiers went to a Taliban compound called Whiskey 108. It was alleged he unlawfully killed this man and ordered someone else to kill the second man. He then took the prosthetic leg back to the soldier's quarters and had his fellow soldiers use it as a novelty drinking vessel. And the court found the newspapers proved those allegations.
