I learned from a young age in bars to just be really, you know, to do my job and sing long notes and get your attention but if nothing was working and people were just being rude. I think the way it translated the most to my professional career was later when my first album was failing and Bob Dylan asked me to tour with him. Sometimes the best thing is finding a common enemy like if you can find somebody who's blatantly rude and you can point them out the rest of the audience feel sorry for you. And so it's like, you just all bond over this terrible person that you kicked out of the show. Like you gotta be and I still do like I did a
