The Impossibility of Grounding Language

There's a whole pile of background knowledge and other intentional states, other propositions that make up the meaning and provide context. The existence of unclear cases does not turn poles into spectrums. And the fact that there are some marginal cases does not mean that there are paradigm cases. But at the end of the day, normal people are like this: We don't have to understand why we've got stuff to do with whether you call it a real pile or not.
