In West Virginia, the Club for Growth is pushing Republican Alex Mooney to take on Democratic Senator Joe Manchin in 2024. The freedom caucus is in ascendancy and they are very much running the show in this debt ceiling fight. Meanwhile, Mitch McConnell has been heavily recruiting Tom Sheehee, a Navy seal and wealthy business person, but somebody without a political track record. If you were to hit Mitch McConnell with some sodium, penithor, true serum, and he said, who would you like to run for the Republicans? I believe he would have two people on the list.
