The Chief Priests Take the Silver Pieces and Say, It Is Not Lawful for to Put Them Into the Treasury
The chief priests took the silver pieces and said, it is not lawful for to put them into the treasury because it is the price of blood. And they bought with them the potter's field to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called the field of blood unto this day. I don't know if there's a better example of what Jesus said back in Matthew 23 about scribes, Pharisees, hypocrites, you strain out a gnat and swallow a camel. That's what they're doing here. They have just paid blood money to Judas, to betray and falsely accuse Jesus so that they can then send him off to death. This is horrifying. Their level
