Introduction
Cavendish was so close to breaking Eddie Merck's record on Friday. But for once the Alpussin lead out train didn't quite work to perfection. He would have had even more in an extra K an hour going past him if he hadn't lost his back wheel there, but timed it to perfection. The finish line just come 50 metres too late, so that was an exciting one,. It was so tight, wasn't it?
