The Effects of Age on Cognitive Processing

There are some really interesting results in research studies that suggest we should leave our arms and us right where they are. Older speakers tend to use filled pauses more than younger speakers, probably because it takes longer for cognitive processing. There's a very different pressure on us from a standpoint of society that then makes us attracted to different types of variables in our speech. Young women seem to be incredibly sensitive to these subtle changes in language that happen under the radar.
