The Importance of Fiber in Prebiotics

Fiber is a catch all term that we use to describe indigestible carbohydrates and lignin. Lignin is a polymer that's made up of repeating units of an alcohol called phenol. It makes up the woody structure of root vegetables and things like broccoli cruciferous vegetables. soluble fiber also helps to extract or adsorb fats and lipids from our food, it also can help lower the risk of heart disease by reducing LDL cholesterol and triglyceride levels. So anytime you eat any sort of plant you're consuming insoluble fibers.
