The Importance of Commitment in Science

I loved all the scientific stuff in real life because I just thought I'm kind of learning so much. And I guess that's the same as being a novelist in a way. It is years of observing things very, very closely but you write really quickly, don't you? You never know if it's going to work out after all this energy and effort and time that you've put into a project. There's a non-zero possibility at the end of it that it's just not going to come together.
