The discovery of exo planets by the kepler space telescope is a tremendous leap, isn't it? Because now we know that those points of light are not just on their own. It's another leap in that direction to say that the earth and the eight planets around the sun are not the only solar syte in the universe. There are probably a a hundred billion or a trillion planets in our observable universe. And that understanding really gives us hope,. i think, that one day we could potentially find a other planets with colonies of bacteria which evolved from chemicals bubbling away in volcanic springs.
