The Importance of State Sponsored Media
A regular news media system would not have the funding to take any kinds of risks. So when we see a media organization like RT repeating our views or repeating things that may be like taking risks, it can only do that because it has state support behind it. It doesn't need to worry about offending advertisers or losing a certain other part of its audience. I remember my first engagement with RT was in college. They were actually investigating these sorts of 9-11 inside jobs sort of narratives. That's true. But with the aesthetic and the sense of gravity of like a cable news network. Exactly.
